Matthew Knowles, Beyoncé's father and former manager, will lead an "intensive" daylong boot camp at Houston Community College this fall [via Swagger New York. Knowles's course — titled "The Entertainment Industry: How Do I Get In?" — will "allow attendees to tap Knowles' vast entertainment and music business expertise and leave with real information, contacts and strategies for their own successful entertainment endeavors," per HCC's website. Students taking appropriately detailed notes during the day's lectures will be saved "a lot of time and legwork," Knowles promises.

Get ready for a long list of those whose attendance is encouraged: "current or aspiring entertainers, songwriters, musicians, composers, writers, producers, managers, sound or engineering technicians, publicists, attorneys, financial planners, fashion stylists, hair dressers, photographers, editors, accountants and a myriad of other entertainment-industry hopefuls are [all] invited." Tickets cost $295 in advance (or $350 on the door, which is more than three times the cost of a ticket to Beyoncé and Jay Z's "On the Run" tour, for comparison's sake) and are sold on a first-come, first-served basis, with the seats closest to the stage going first. Lunch is not included, unfortunately, but if you bring your own sandwiches and then offer to share them with the folks seated near you, that's successful networking!

And if you're looking for more wisdom than can be imparted in a single day, Knowles apparently also teaches a course on the recording industry at the Texas Southern University's School of Communication.
