Kimberly Pappas hid her newborn child in a plastic bag inside her desk drawer after giving birth at work, Fox 8 reports. Emergency crews and police showed up after Pappas wasn't feeling well.
She told them she had a miscarriage, but a medical report shows the child actually died of asphyxiation. "The baby was still warm when rescue personnel found him," detective Kevin Crittenden said.
Pappas has pleaded not guilty. "I believe that there are serious mental health issues involving with my client," said her attorney, Raymond Cassar.
