A man in Zhejiang, China, went to the doctor to find out what was causing his stomach cramps and blood in his urine. He found out it was because he was on his period. Because he's actually a woman [via Shanghaiist.
When his cramps and the bleeding couldn't be explained, Chen had a CT scan, which showed a uterus and ovaries. Upon further examination, doctors realized Chen had no Adam's apple or male genitals for that matter. Chen, who is married, claimed that he had a healthy sex life, but doctors were, naturally, skeptical. The whole thing sounds really awkward, with Chen trying to convince doctors he's a man, and a bunch of medical professionals standing around being like, "Uh, no."
Doctors did find a lump in Chen's throat causing Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia (a condition that causes the adrenal glands to swell and increase the production of male hormones). The bump was removed. No word on which gender Chen plans to continue his life as, but this has surely shaken his worldview.
