1. All About Eve (leaving December 1)

If you've never seen this movie then you're probably one of those people who doesn't "get what the big deal about Bette Davis." This is the movie that firmly cemented Davis' role as a Hollywood icon. In the 1950 film, she plays Margo Channing, an outspoken Broadway star with a flair for her own personal dialogue ("Fasten your seatbelts, it's going to be a bumpy night!) who is the subject of Eve Harrington's (played by Anne Baxter) conniving fascination. Plus, the film is also important for featuring one of the earliest roles of an another actress you might have heard of—Marilyn Monroe.

Who isn't still terrified of this creepy little kid?  Starring Hollywood legends Gregory Peck and Lee Remick, the 1976 film about the offspring of the Devil adopted by an American ambassador still gives me nightmares.  The film, directed by Richard Donner , still lands on film critics' list of scariest horror movies of all time to this day.

Jennifer Connelly (yes, that Jennifer Connelly) plays Sarah, a 15-year-old whose brother is kidnapped by David Bowie (yes, that  David Bowie) who portrays the Goblin King in one of the most memorable roles in cinematic history. This film is everything that was great about 1986, especially the hair. Come for the trippy fantasy directed by Jim Henson (yes, you know it's that one); stay for David Bowie's mesmerizing pants bulge

4. The Dark Crystal (leaving December 1)

And since you're going to be diving into fantasy featuring intricate puppets, make it a true marathon with  Henson and Frank Oz's classic 1982 dark children's tale featuring intricate puppeteering and one of the most unusual and beautiful love stories ever caught on film. In the movie, a Gelfling named Jen meets the only other surviving member of his species, Kira. Jen takes on a mysterious quest to find a missing shard of a crystal and the ending is just so—well, I'm going to let you find out.

5. Juice (leaving December 1)

In 1992, Spike Lee's cinematographer Ernest R. Dickerson made a jarring film called  Juice,  which featured Tupak Shakur,  Khalil Kain , Jermaine 'Huggy' Hopkinsand Omar Epps as teens growing up in Harlem. Without giving too much away, the film features some truly devastating moments and a climax that will make you miss Tupak all over again.

Most people only know it as the 1991 Academy Award winning film with the infamous line about eating a census taker's liver with some "fava beans and a nice Chianti." But it's so much more than that! It's the film that made Anthony Hopkins a household name, the film that earned Jodie Foster her second Oscar, and the movie that introduced a broader audience to director Jonathan Demme's chilling style of having intense, center-focused close-ups of actors who look directly into the camera. It's a technique that broke standard Filmmaking 101 rules and the results are terrifying near-claustrophobic moments that leave the audience trapped in the gaze of a relentless serial killer like Hannibal Lecter .

7. Trek Nation (leaving December 1)

Think Star Trek fandom isn't for you? You're not alone. Rod Roddenberr , son of the late Gene Roddenberry who created the iconic sci-fi show, spent years  reconciling his own image of his fallible and flawed father to that of the god-like status imposed on him by fan's of the show. The result is more than a film about a quirky sci-fi fandom. It's a story of a father's legacy and a son's struggle to find the humanity behind that. Watch it, even if you've never seen an episode of the show.
