Ralkina Jones, 37, mysteriously died in jail with no apparent health complications, Fusion reports. She was arrested July 24 for an argument with her husband at work (her arrest record has yet to be released). She died while in custody at Cleveland Heights Police Department's jail July 26, and an autopsy was performed July 27.
The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's office says the autopsy has been completed, and while they have yet to release the results, they say they haven't identified any suspicious injuries.
Jones's sister, Renee Ashford, told Cleveland.com that she doesn't understand how this could've happened. Ashford described Jones as being "perfectly fine" when she visited her July 25. "You can't just tell me one minute I've seen my sister, then the next day she's dead," says Ashford. "That don't even make sense. And it's just, 'I can't help you. I can't tell you.' Like, no. That's unhuman."
Police said they had to take Jones to the hospital due to problems with her blood sugar and blood pressure, but that nothing else was wrong.
