It's happening. It's really happening! Taylor Swift is releasing a new album. It's called 1989, it comes out October 27, and she says it's "my favorite album I've ever made." During her Yahoo live stream Monday — which broadcasted from the top of the Empire State Building — Taylor announced all of that important information, revealed the cover of the new record, and premiered her new song "Shake It Off." Duh, it's great.

And though Taylor didn't play any new music besides her new single, she did drop a lot of hints about what the album might be about. She called it "a bit of a rebirth for me" and says it's her first "official pop album," which explains the dance-tastic sound of "Shake It Off." She added that "the idea of endless possibility was kind of a theme in the last year of my life," so maybe that really does mean that there won't be so many boys on this one.
