Dig out your old boy band posters and start practicing your backflips because the Spice Girls and Backstreet Boys could be reuniting for a tour.

Backstreet Boy AJ McLean has spilled the beans and said it's been in the works for a while.

He told Rolling Stone: "The Spice Girls tour has been this idea bouncing around for the past year and a half, and it's something we're still talking about."

"But we're going back in [to the studio] on the 12th to dust off the cobwebs. We're working with a new producer, Jay Cash, who wrote 'Sugar' for Maroon 5."

"This is just the beginning phase, but we're hoping to have the album done before our cruise in May."

Recently Mel B said she's doing everything in her Girl Power to ensure the Spice Girls reunite next year for the 20th anniversary of "Wannabe."

"Nothing has been announced, nothing's official. Yes, we are in talks, because it is our 20th anniversary, and I want something to happen — it better," Mel told talk show host Meredith Vieira.

"I'm forcing them a little bit — I've been saying it for five years. 'We are reuniting, aren't we? We are? We are? We need to!'"

Geri Halliwell also confirmed the girls were in talks to get together again.

Both bands have reunited in the past with the Spice Girls getting together in 2007 for an album and tour and the Backstreet Boys and New Kids on the Block joining up for a world tour in 2012.
