Twenty-five-year-old art student Kevin "Kayvon" Edson was arraigned on charges of making false bomb threats on the one-year anniversary of the Boston Marathon bombings. The threats were an act of "performance art." Boston police safely detonated the two false bombs he planted as a precaution.

Edson's bail is set at $100,000. "I knew what I was doing," Edson allegedly told the police when he was arrested. "It was being conceived in my head. It's symbolism. The performance got the best of me."

Edson, who, according to a friend, has struggled with mental illness, left a rice cooker filled with confetti at the finish line of the marathon. Before placing the fake bomb, he was seen traipsing around Boylston Street wearing a black veil and shouting with painted tears on his face. Below, a passerby's video of his "performance":
