In Watch Cut's powerful new word association video, Native Americans respond to the word "Thanksgiving." Unsurprisingly, the first word that comes to mind for Native Americans isn't "turkey." No, it's more like, "lies," "inaccurate," "slaughter," and "sadness. Total sadness."

In one moving response, an interviewee says, "Thanksgiving is a time when my family gets together and tells stories about our creation myths and who we were and who we are and really what we lost."
