1. You spray it only on your roots. You know that applying dry shampoo to your roots will soak up excess oil, but the product can do amazing things to your strands too! Spray it directly onto your hair where you want a little texture to give your hair that cool-girl, roughed-up look.

2. You don't brush it through. After applying, use a bristle brush to distribute it evenly so it doesn't stick on only one part of your scalp.

3. You brush it out too quickly. Leave the product for a few minutes to soak up the grease before brushing it out.

4. You spray it on your scalp without lifting your hair. To get really in between your strands, pick up different sections of your hair making a part, and spray it right onto your scalp.

5. You try to get volume by just roughing up your roots. Instead, flip your head upside down and spray the dry shampoo into your roots. When you lift your head up, you'll have tons of extra volume.

6. You only use it on your hair.  Try applying dry shampoo directly to bobby pins or clips before putting in your hair. It will give the pins a ton of grip to stay in your hair all day.

7. You skip your bangs. If you have bangs, they are actually the most important part! Sure, you don't want them to have a ton of volume (hello, '80s!) but if you apply a little product on the underside of your bangs, it will keep them from sticking to your forehead and sop up any access oil.

8. You use dry shampoo every day. You can overuse it! And that can lead to icky stuff like clogged pores, pimples, and flakes and a dry, itchy scalp. Use it just a few times a week or just on the days you don't wash your hair, and use a clarifying shampoo every few washes to get rid of any extra residue.
