Here's some aca-crazy news: Pitch Perfect 2 just made more in one weekend than Pitch Perfect made in its entire run. That's insane. Not only that, but the sequel to 2012's hit film about a bunch of ladies who just love to sing without instruments made an estimated whopping $70.3 million in its debut weekend. And guess who's packing the theater? It's the same people who run the world: girls.

Unexpectedly and awesomely, the female-dominated Pitch Perfect 2 bettered two huge, male-skewing action giants, Mad Max: Fury Road (which grossed an estimated $44.4 million its opening weekend and actually is supposed to be feminist and badass and I can't wait to see it!), and Avengers: Age of Ultron (which grossed $38.8 million in its third weekend).

So, basically, ladies are doing it for themselves and maybe there should be a lot more movies starring kickass women? Yeah, that. Let's do that.
