Hilary Duff just released the music video for her new single "Sparks." It's a hip-hop happening, postmodern creation — because Hilary Duff is a cool young thing these days, OK? — mixing the traditional music-video-multicolored-hot-pants dance scenes with real-life footage from Hilary's recent forays into Tinder. Go figure, it all began because some of Hilary's friends were too rude to stay off their phones during dinner at her place.

TMZ had previously reported that Hilary's first Tinder date, during which she went bowling with her match and other assorted friends, was filmed for a potential reality show. It turns out though that, at least so far, this was just for the "Sparks" video; her date is there, giving an awkward side-hug (cringe) after she bowls a strike — his face is blurred though, probably because of the residual side-hug shame. There's also footage from a go-karting date, and this guy does consent to appear unpixelated. "This is ridiculously cool, actually," he says at one point, mid-lap — so perhaps the "sparks" Hilary's singing about actually ~hAPpEneD~ on that occasion.

Future Tinder dates can take note, if you want to do better: Declare a love for Sriracha sauce, cheese, and/or vodka, as these are things you'd have in common with Hilary, according to her besties. And don't have a profile picture that features strange things in your mouth?! (Why would anyone do this?!)
