Pretty Little Liars wrapped up season six Tuesday night, and as usual, there are lot of questions still left unanswered. For example, who killed Charlotte, and why? Still unclear, but at least we know this: Veronica Hastings — spoiler alert — is a state senator now! Below, six important takeaways from the season finale.

1. Ezra and Aria are not over. Liam was right to worry about the implications of these two working together, because all it took was one enthusiastic compliment from their editor for Aria to decide it was time to kiss her old flame. This led to Ezra lifting her up on the counter, which in turn led to them sharing what must be one of the most explicit sex scenes committed to PLL film (explicit here meaning only that you saw feet and light thrusting — don't get too excited).

2. Hanna never stopped loving Caleb. Duh, but she finally confirmed it by confessing to him that she realized she'd made the wrong choice in the Boyfriend vs. Career cage match almost as soon as she left their apartment back in their NYC days. Caleb then proceeded to give her an extremely slow kiss, so even though he was ogling Spencer's butt earlier that morning, you know he still feels something.

3. But Spencer loves Caleb. She told him as much on his way out the door to execute the Liars' insane plan to trap A-moji (which I could not explain under pain of death so please don't ask), but was met with silence. She seemed fine with this because he was in a hurry, though now that he's rekindled things with Hanna, who knows? Toby and Yvonne are on the rocks now too, thanks to Toby choosing to help Spencer, so maybe Spoby will also have their reunion moment.

4. Charlotte was actually adopted by the DiLaurentis family. This is where things really start to go off the rails, which is saying a lot for an episode where Caleb decided he was going to build an electric fence using instructions he found on the Internet. The team finds crusty old papers in the Radley basement that prove Charlotte's birth mother was one Mary Drake, a Radley patient of yore. Jessica DiLaurentis adopted the child, and pretended that she and Jason were a couple years apart so no one would question why they were the same age.

5. And Charlotte's biological mother is Jessica DiLaurentis's identical twin! It's OK, you can say "whaaaaaat" out loud. When Ali thought her painkillers were making her hallucinate the ghost of her dead mother, she was actually seeing her dead mother's very real secret twin in zombie makeup! This show is the best.

6. Ali's new husband was in love with Charlotte first and is in league with Mary Drake. Elliot is one shady turd and this whole time has been working with Mary so she can regain control of the Carissimi Group. He also participated in the "scare Ali into a psychiatric hospital" charade by dressing up as Detective Wilden.

Still unknown: The full extent of Sara Harvey's involvement with all this or her whereabouts, the identity of Charlotte's murderer, and what's going to happen to Hanna. In Hanna's last scene, she's being dragged through the bell tower by an unseen figure named A.D., likely not Elliot or Mary since they were too busy taking off their ghost makeup and talking about "what Charlotte would have wanted." Who is A.D.? Can you really learn how to build an electric fence online? Will Haleb or Spaleb prevail? All this and more will probably not be answered when PLL returns later this year, but keep the dream alive.
