Having realized this morning that all it takes to stir up a social media shitshow is a single well-placed retweet, Zayn Malik is at it again. Picking his target perhaps because she just chose to highlight his ex Perrie Edwards's girl band Little Mix on her tour, Zayn retweeted this message this afternoon:
Ostensibly, it's comparing and contrasting Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus's attitudes toward their music and its monetary value, and not painting T-Swift in the best light. (And Miley has recently made a slightly disparaging comparison between herself and Taylor also, don't you know.) Anyway, make of that what you wil,l but know that Taylor's boyfriend and shirtless knight in shining Emporio Armani underwear Calvin Harris will have none of it. He threw some tweets out there calling out Zayn in turn, and shit soon got messy:
In tweets screencapped and saved by Zayn fans (love you all, praying for your idol), Calvin appears to have taken on Zayn directly. And Zayn, in turn, was having none of that either:
For the record, Calvin is nine years older than Zayn, so the whole dentures diss seems to be coming rather out of the left field — and to contextualize British slang, "knickers" here is particularly meant to imply granny panties. Ageism is real, I guess? And goodness knows we're not here to stop celebrities fighting on Twitter especially when it's nonsensical, except this is a little bit exhausting:
And maybe Calvin felt that way also, so here he is trying to squash the beef; you know Taylor had been texting him the whole time being like, "Avoid Twitter fights AT ALL COSTS," because she's been there:
(Unless of course, he's using "best of luck" ironically, you know, like when you sign off an email, "All best.") And in conclusion, we should all be thankful that this focus on Zayn's Twitter feed today means lots of opportunities to ogle his new profile picture:

Or, at least, he's agreeing with Calvin's side of the argument above, as this favorited tweet suggests. Clearly there's still some ~bad blood~ between Louis and Zayn after their little Twitter spat a few months back.
